Featured Student:
Bambi Lynn Miller Master of Business Administration, 2012
Although Bambi Miller has 30 years of professional experience in the private and public sectors, she says her classmates at the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University provided her with new and innovative knowledge that she can apply to her career. "Having the opportunity to learn from my classmates and Jack Welch's philosophy was an invaluable part of the academic experience," Ms. Miller says.
Today, Ms. Miller uses the knowledge she gained from the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University to help her in her role as the director of customer services and paratransit for METRO Regional Transit Authority in Akron, Ohio. In this role, she oversees a department of 22 customer service personnel and works closely with local agencies to assist customers with all transportation issues.
In addition, Ms. Miller has a passion for giving back to her community. She is currently the vice president for the nonprofit organization METRO Assistance Group Inc., and she serves on two boards for community organizations, including the Akron Blind Center and Northern Ohio Golf Charities.
Prior to earning a master's degree, Ms. Miller earned an associate degree in business administration from The University of Akron in Ohio and a bachelor's degree in business from Hiram College in Ohio.
Outside of work, Ms. Miller enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two grandchildren.
